Greenlee letter: DACA
I don’t understand the outrage directed at President Trump’s decision to end DACA. The president appears to have determined — correctly — that DACA is illegal and would not survive the lawsuit threatened by several state attorneys general. So the president gave Congress six months to submit an immigration bill for his signature — a bill that the president obviously envisions will include many, if not all, aspects of DACA. In other words, the president is trying to accomplish legally what DACA purported to accomplish illegally. So why the outrage? The time for outrage will come if Congress fails to deliver.
