Tonkin letter: Cell tower
Garden City has just literally poked its Boise neighbors along Mountain View Drive in the eye by permitting the construction of a windmill-proportioned cell tower, thereby defacing a long-cherished view of the valley and foothills. One would like to think that their planning and zoning folks would have some sense of aesthetics and the visual environment, or even common sense, before recommending such an approval, and that the council, before granting approval, might inquire about any possible unintended consequences. But, alas, neither occurred. And Verizon Communications apparently has no sense of propriety. What to do?
G.W. (Bill) Tonkin, Boise
