Zimmer letter: Labrador Kustra

Really Raul? Bob Kustra’s vision, leadership, strategic execution and energy have made Boise State University likely the most improved public university in the USA over the last 15 years, bringing quality education and pride to its students, faculty, community, and all of Idaho.

With accomplishments too long to list here, Kustra has led Boise State to national academic recognition. While it is easy to lose perspective, look at where Boise State was 15 years ago, prior to his arrival, and where it is today. It is easy to take for granted the direct educational and economic impact the University generates year on year. Does anyone think the school would be what it is today without its current president? Consider the impact of the educational and economic engine coming from University Drive, the result of true leadership. By comparison, what has Raul Labrador really accomplished for Idaho?

Maybe Labrador is right. Maybe it is time for Bob Kustra to leave Boise State…but only if Dr. Kustra decides to become our next governor.

Ed Zimmer, Boise
