Mauer letter: Charlottesville

I, as well as many Idahoans, am disappointed in the choice of our legislators to remain mute regarding the circumstances of the recent events in Charlottesville and response of the POTUS. Failure to verbally single out and condemn remarks of a POTUS that is contrary to the values, traditions and what we as a country stand for is unfortunate. How much personal fortitude, courage, moral conscience does it take for our elected officials to speak out against a POTUS who not only has a distorted view of United States history, but demeans the American values which are the fiber of our country? Our representatives should unequivocally express zero tolerance for racism, anti-semitism, white supremacists, KKK, neo-Nazis and censure the POTUS for his remarks that are contrary to the belief in the United States of America that all men are created equal.
