Fallstrom letter: Hybrid cars
Regarding hybrid fees, I am retired but drive a Toyota hybrid which is also gasoline powered. I do not drive much, pay the tax on the gasoline I do use, and am conscious about the air quality which lead me to consider the purchase of a hybrid. The newer vehicles are much more fuel efficient than 18-year old pickups/vehicles of any kind. No one should feel they are subsidizing fuel efficient vehicles by the choice of their own vehicle. I believe the legislature is considering alternative solutions to its transportation infrastructure so this subject may be moot.
