Taylor letter: Political coverage

Your Sunday Statesman, Aug. 13, was one of your best in a while, very educational and informative journalism at its best. However, the political coverage was not “Old Statesman.” Forty one years ago I left a $1,100 a week job to come to Boise and work for $800 a month and never looked back. As a lifelong Democrat I had found California to be getting way too socialist like my birth state of Illinois and was enticed by the political diversity of Idaho. A red state with a blue governor, what not to like. But anymore I have to go on the net to find the news from the other side. I feel that “Old Journalism” is to fully inform, not to indoctrinate.

Diversification is the key to survival.

Robert A. Taylor, Boise
