Mattison letter: Young white men
What is wrong with young white men? On Saturday, Aug. 12, in Charlottesville, we saw young men with neo-Nazi and KKK gear and angry faces who created mayhem which resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to many. A young white man in Oklahoma would have set off a bomb were it not for FBI undercover agents who substituted a fake bomb. Angry young white men take guns into churches and kill people. Angry young men exhibit road rage. Recently, a young man tried to cut in front of my car and when I honked, he swore at me.
The challenge right now is to figure out why young white men are so angry and what can be done about it.
