Welty letter: Guns and kids
May I ask a question? Why do parents and other adults give guns (play guns and otherwise) to their kids, grandchildren and other innocent young people? Guns are made to kill, and play guns also cause lots of annoyance and even cause damage. My sister in California recently had her car window shot out with a pellet gun. Hopefully the parents of the teens who did this will compensate her for their children’s bad behavior.
Please, put down your guns even if the guns are for hunting and/or collecting. Please give them to the police who will be happy to accept them. And please don’t buy toy guns. They teach a violent and sad story to youngsters.
