McGown letter: F-35 mission
There was a meeting the evening of June 27 at the Boise Public Library sponsored by a citizens’ group to discuss the F-35 fighter jets possibly being based in Boise. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the meeting. I’ve been watching the Idaho Statesman, hoping to see coverage of the information that was presented. Not a word. I would like to read and hear discussions about the potential positive and negative impacts of the jets on Boise’s quality of life. I understand some neighborhoods will become unlivable and some public schools will be closed. Please cover all the potential impacts — positive and negative, of the possibility of locating the jets here.
