Taylor letter: Bear baiting

I couldn’t help but notice the hatred and vile that has been leveled at Marvin Jennings and bear hunters using baiting techniques. Throughout the web and the nation lately anger and even threats after the Idaho Statesman’s recent article on Jennings. The accusations of unfair chase and inhumane hunting practice are simply untrue. As many of us who hunt, manage, study and live around these creatures have long known baiting far lessens the chance of an accidental sow kill with cubs and presents a better and closer shot. It is a miscalculation of the intelligence of this animal to believe all you have to do is throw out some donuts and they start stampeding in. The success rate for bait hunters is much lower than most think. Stop attacking bear hunters and research these urban based animal rights extremists groups that propagate these myths. The vegan anti hunting agenda is well known. In this day of left wing violence these groups have been listed along with eco-terrorism as the most prevalent of left wing terrorism. The types that condone the arson of trapping businesses and the criminal release of mink and hate hunters. Wishing Jensen a quick recovery and many natives stand behind you.
