Bachelder letter: F-35 mission
It was enlightening to read in a Letter to the Editor on Sunday, June 11, from WinCo CEO Steven Goddard, that Boise is the only city west of the Mississippi River being considered for the F-35 mission. It reminded me of the good old days when the government kept trying to use our pristine, somewhat remote area for nuclear waste dumping. Honor indeed. This so-called honor would impact all our lives on a daily basis. From what I understand, the noise level would be unbearable. Why would the decision-makers inflict this on us? Don’t give me “economic reasons.” This is a quality of life issue.
Apparently even Mountain Home doesn’t want it. At least there the airport is several miles from the city. There’s something we are not being told, here. The government works in mysterious ways.
