Maclay letter: Marijuana
Governor Otter wants the federal government to crack down on marijuana users. Why?
Could it be because he gets so much money from industries that lobby heavily for tough laws against marijuana? Otter has taken $48,900 from liquor companies alone. Add up what he’s taken from tobacco, drug and private prison industries — all of whom, again, lobby against marijuana legalization — and you’re talking many thousands of dollars.
What about medical marijuana? Does your child need it to control seizures? Are you a combat vet using marijuana to help with PTSD? Is it helping you fight cancer? Parkinson’s? Too bad for you. The governor doesn’t “believe” medical marijuana helps. Not that he’s a doctor. Or researcher. Or any sort of an expert. Otter says you’re a criminal. He is officially asking the feds to drop the hammer on you. And the Trump administration will do it.
Money talks.
