Wallace letter: Proposed streetcar
After reading Robert Ehlert’s column “5 questions before boarding proposed streetcar,” I’d like to ponder a question of my own ... Dear God, what idiot thought that this “streetcar to nowhere,” which was resoundingly opposed when it was estimated at $60 million, would be a great idea at $111 million?
I’m sorry but I can not find a single reason to resurrect this brainless attempt to massage Dave Bieter’s ego.
It seems the city has done everything in their power to eliminate parking through a moronic level of construction the past two years, possibly with the goal of inconveniencing people enough that they’ll vote against their best interests and approve this “streetcar to nowhere.”
I have a much better idea for a legacy for Bieter ... just go away.
