Nelson letter: Sen. Risch

On Sen. James Risch: It takes a lot of loyalty to go on national TV and defend the right of our president to disclose, on the spur of the moment, state secrets to the Russian foreign minister. Risch was one of the few to quickly defend the president’s actions, along with Vladimir Putin, who has offered his aid to our president by providing a record to Congress of the meeting between President Trump and his Russian foreign minister. I feel our senator’s loyalty is misplaced in this instance. Such actions should require consultation and deliberation before taking a person like Vladimir Putin into our confidence.
