Jensen letter: Supports Gowen Field

Twenty-two years ago, I purchased a home near Overland and Cole roads. We quickly learned that we were also a direct flyover for Gowen Field flight paths. Making this home the best purchase I have ever made. Every weekend maneuver meant lots of flyovers. Lots of noise, goosebumps and flag waving pride. I taught my son that this is, was the sound of America’s freedom. Those flyovers also made for one of, if not the best memory of my son’s boyhood. Star Wars had just released the first two movies sets for home viewing. We rolled out our TV onto the patio and watched Star Wars while Idaho Air National Guard flew overhead. What a rush. My son has now retired from the Air Force. But continues his career in aviation. I will do anything for the continuance of military maneuvers, bases at Gowen Field, in Boise and in Idaho. Go Guard. Go Air Force.
