Cooke letter: Nuclear waste
The Statesman concludes that refusing entry for more spent fuel into Idaho “has not made the nasty liquid waste any safer ….” But Idaho’s steadfastness in demanding cleanup compliance has kept the amount of spent fuel from rising. If Idaho caves, we could end up with more nuclear waste and no solution to what was already here.
