Bastian letter: Social engineering
Social engineering has been the name of the game for over a century, and yet the slums have not been cleaned up, families have not been strengthened by birth control and abortion, alcoholism and addiction are rampant, legalization of drugs is sweeping across America, civil disobedience is an accepted norm and doing good is frequently considered bad taste.
Edward Markham observed: “We are blind until we see that in the human plan, nothing is worth the making if it does not build the man. Why build these cities glorious if man unbuilded goes, in vain we build the world, unless the builder grows.”
“The Father of us all works from the inside out. The world works from outside in. The world would take the people out of the slums. Christ takes the slums out of the people, and then they take themselves out of the slums.” Ezra Taft Benson
We must never forget and always remember science cannot prescribe a capsule/pill that will improve one’s honesty, moral attributes or character. There is nothing truly great in any man except his character.
