Reed letter: Thank you
Thank you, volunteer Idaho Fish and Game commissioners, for your hard work and dedication representing the interests of Idaho outdoorsmen and wildlife. I especially appreciate the efforts of active and retired commissioners who have been standing up against political pressure to auction off big game tags and install a system allowing hunters with financial means to purchase bonus points towards drawing controlled hunt tags. That is not what Idaho hunting is about. Shame on Sen. Steve Bair for attempting to bully the commissioners into accepting these big-money-backed ideas. In the meantime, our professional Idaho Fish and Game Department is underfunded, resident fishing and hunting licenses cost far less than a tank of gas, and all of the sportsmen’s groups I know support simple fee increases.
