Mattison letter: Election

I’m confused. I thought that people in the United States valued education and encouraged our young people to become educated in order to increase their opportunities in life. I recall that in multiple surveys over several years, Idahoans rate education as their highest priority. Now educated people are scorned, derided and labeled “elites” whose role in government should be limited. What kind of message does this send to young people? Don’t bother getting an education? Donald Trump will find you a job? We’ll see how that works out.
