Kinter letter: Risch and Trump
Republican Sen. Jim Risch has stated that he intends to vote for Donald Trump (Statesman, Oct. 19) even though the senator is “disgusted by the vulgar and indefensible revelations relating to the Republican nominee’s character.”
I am in equal parts confused by and incredulous of Risch’s decision to cast his vote for a candidate he obviously finds less than desirable. Such behavior is, it seems to me, indefensible.
It would appear that our senator has again forsaken the ethical high road and sound judgment in his pathological need to follow the GOP mandate to stonewall Secretary Clinton’s path to the White House, despite the consequences to America’s singular standards.
