Kudos to Phill VanSickle on his guest opinion concerning traffic in Southwest Boise. The Cole Road corridor has reached the breaking point. In the two and a half years I have lived off the far south end of Cole Road, I have seen the traffic overload compound to nearly double what it was. I encourage all council members and commissioners to drive Cole Road daily for two weeks between 7 and 8:30 a.m., and 5 and 6:30 p.m. We can no longer take the “we will expand infrastructure in the near future” posture. New routes and roadways need to be completed before any further developments are allowed, especially the Syringa Valley proposal. Let’s begin playing the traffic problem smartly, then we can start addressing where the water will come from for all these homes.
