Allred letter: No on HJR 5

In the Oct. 9 issue of the Statesman there were contrasting guest opinions on HJR 5 appearing on the November ballot. After reading the details of the resolution, I conclude that if Attorney General Lawrence Wasden and Sen. Jim Risch are on opposite sides of an issue, trust Wasden. Converting an Idaho Legislature resolution into a constitutional amendment is profoundly unwise and erodes the divisional separation of power guaranteed by our state and federal constitutions.

It seems logical that Risch would collude with the Idaho Legislature. He is a do-nothing senator and he wants excessive power mandated to a do-nothing Legislature.

Vote no on HJR 5.

Robert Allred, Eagle
