A Trader Joe’s frozen rice dish has been recalled. Customers found glass
Glass shouldn’t be among the many ingredients in chicken fried rice, which is why 3.37 million pounds have been recalled from the United States and Canada.
Ajinomoto Foods North America made the not-food-in-your-food recall of Trader Joe’s Chicken Fried Rice and Ajinomoto Yakitori Chicken with Japanese-style Fried Rice.

“The problem was discovered after (Ajinomoto) notified FSIS that it received four consumer complaints regarding glass found in product,” the USDA-Food Safety and Inspection Service said.
The Trader Joe’s branded rice was sold in 20-ounce bags with best by dates 9/8/2026 through 11/17/2026. The Ajinomoto branded rice, which went to Canadian retailers, was packaged in 1.53 kg boxes, each with six boxes of the chicken fried rice. The best by dates are “26 SE 09” through “26 NO 12.”
Return recalled rice to the store for a refund, or toss it into the garbage, deep enough to prevent being found by investigative pets.
