Who’s running to represent Boise’s Legislative District 22? Hear from the candidates
Several candidates will be running in the Nov. 8 general election to represent Idaho’s Legislative District 22.
Republican Rep. John Vander Woude, of Meridian, has served in the House for six terms going back to 2010. Vander Woude faces Democrat Natalie MacLachlan, of Boise, for the House position A seat. District 22 encompasses about 58,770 residents stretching east of Meridian into Boise.
The Idaho Statesman sent surveys to each of the candidates in contested races on a variety of issues. Their responses are below, unedited.
House Assistant Majority Leader Jason Monks, R-Meridian, is running against Democrat Dawn Pierce, of Boise, for House position B in the general election. Pierce did not respond to the survey.
In the Senate race, Sen. Lori Den Hartog, R-Meridian, faces Democrat Pat Soulliere, of Meridian, and Constitution Party candidate Brendan Gomez, of Boise.
All legislative positions have two-year terms.
