The 28 ballots, discovered in Precinct 2206, will be counted Monday, Chief Deputy County Clerk Phil McGrane said in a news release.
An election official, preparing for the county commissioners to canvass the votes from Tuesday's election, discovered a discrepancy betwen poll-book signatures and ballots counted, according to the news release.
McGrane said the discovered ballots will not change the final outcome of any of the races or issues involved, and representatives from each of the districts affected have been notified. Issues on the ballots included mayor, City Council seats 1, 3 and 5, the West Ada School District levy and the Meridian Library District bond, the news release said.
The ballots will be counted at 11 a.m. Monday at Ada County election headquarters, 400 N. Benjamin Lane, Suite 100, Boise. As with all election tabulation, the public is invited to observe the process as these ballots are counted and added to the unofficial results. The results will be certified as official following the canvass of votes by the Ada County Board of Canvassers on Tuesday.
