Hear from candidates: Our guide to Caldwell, Middleton, Vallivue school board elections
Seven school board seats are up for election this November in the the Vallivue, Middleton and Caldwell school districts.
Three of the candidates are incumbents who are running unopposed.
In Caldwell, incumbent Marisela Pesina is running unopposed in Zone 5 and has been declared the winner. Pesina said in an email that she was running for reelection because she believes in “empowering the whole child to achieve personal goals and in that process strengthen our community.”
In Middleton, incumbent Pamela Wagoner is running unopposed for Zone 4. Wagoner said in an email she won’t be on the ballot because she is running unopposed, but believes Middleton is moving forward in a “good direction.”
“I am grateful to be a part of that,” she said.
In Vallivue, incumbent Jennifer Cox is also running unopposed for Zone 2.
In two elections, incumbents are running to retain their seats. Trish Robertson is running to retain her seat in Caldwell Zone 1. Jeff Forsberg is running to retain his seat in Vallivue Zone 1.
The Statesman sent surveys to the candidates on issues including COVID-19 mitigation measures, teacher retention and critical race theory. Their responses are unedited.
