Republican Sen. Mike Crapo has been tested for COVID-19 after attending the Supreme Court nomination ceremony in the White House Rose Garden for Amy Coney Barrett.

Crapo, who wore a mask, was sitting next to Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina. Tillis announced Friday he had tested positive for the virus but was experiencing no symptoms.

“Senator Crapo is experiencing no symptoms and received a negative test result this afternoon,” press secretary Melanie Lawhorn told the Idaho Statesman in an email Saturday.

Tillis and Utah Sen. Mike Lee were both in close proximity to Crapo during the event, and both announced positive test results on Friday.

At least eight people who attended the ceremony have since tested positive, according to NPR, including President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump.
