UPDATE: Missing Star man and mom found safe after mountain drive

A 53-year-old Star man and his mother who failed to return home Sunday after a Mother’s Day drive in the mountains are safe, the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

Gregory L. Pruett and his mother, Carolyn J. Brennan, 74, of Boise were driving on the road that leads to Atlanta. They contacted family members, and the sheriff’s office was notified about 3:15 p.m.

The pair’s Jeep reportedly got stuck Sunday, but they were able to get it out Monday, the sheriff’s office reports.
