Mountain Home man in fair condition after truck hit him

David Weed, 26, remained in a Boise hospital in fair condition Thursday, the day after he was hit by a pickup truck while he was walking across Idaho 51 in a crosswalk.

No further information about Weed's condition or injuries was available from Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. But here is how the hospital defines "fair condition" on its website: "Vital signs are stable and within normal limits. Patient is conscious, but may be uncomfortable. Indicators are favorable."

Weed was taken from Mountain Home to Boise by air ambulance after a pickup driven by Cindy Lowrimore, 23, of Mountain Home hit him about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Idaho State Police report.

Updated information about the ISP investigation and the possibility of citations was not available Thursday. On Wednesday night, ISP reported that Lowrimore was driving south on Idaho 51 at milepost 91 in Mountain Home when her vehicle hit Weed in the crosswalk. The southbound lanes of the highway were blocked for about three hours while crews cleared the scene.
