Emergency crews on are on the scene of a vegetation fire that started Saturday afternoon in Boise County.

The Bear Run Fire, located about 2.5 miles northeast of Idaho City, originally forced emergency personnel to issue a Level 2 evacuation warning for residents in the Duquette Pines Subdivision within zone IC-01, according to a social media post from the Boise County Sheriff’s Office. But that level was reduced to a Level 1 on Saturday evening as “forward progress of the Bear Run fire has stopped,” officials said.

“Please avoid the area unless you live there,” the sheriff’s office wrote. “Keeping roads clear allows firefighters and emergency personnel to safely access the fire and protect the community.”

There are three evacuation levels: Ready (Level 1), Set (Level 2) and Go (Level 3).

The Bear Run Fire is currently listed at a half-acre, according to Watch Duty.

The Ohio Fire, which also started Saturday in Blaine County, is approximately 500 acres with 0% containment, according to Watch Duty.

Because of the Ohio Fire, a Level 3 evacuation notice has been issued for residents in Ohio Gulch zone, dump, and Wynn’s compost as well as the Heatherlands, Valley Club and Indian Creek Subdivision, according to a social media post from the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office. Meanwhile, homes in the Hiawatha area are at Level 2.
