Update: Idaho couple found safe after Valley County sheriff conducts search

Update: The Valley County Sheriff’s Office deputies located the Amburgys at about 12:35 p.m. Saturday. The sheriff’s office stated the couple is safe.

The Valley County Sheriff’s Office is deploying a helicopter and a drone to help search for a Donnelly couple who went missing this week.

An alert was sent out Saturday morning to notify the public about the search for 72-year-old Dennis Amburgy and 74-year-old Carol Amburgy.

According to a family member, the couple was last seen on Monday, Jan. 19, in Garden Valley. They have a gold Toyota Highlander with Idaho license plate V1270.

Dennis is described as white, 5-foot-2 and 145 pounds. He has brown eyes and gray hair. Carol is described as white, 5-foot-2 and 135 pounds. She has brown eyes and gray hair.

Valley County officials said in a Facebook post that deputies are monitoring the couple’s cellphone locations, and conducting a ground search-and-rescue operation, in addition to the new air search.

The sheriff’s office asked anyone with information on the Amburgys to call Valley County dispatch at 208-382-5160.
