Brundage Mountain set to open this week — its earliest opening in nearly two decades

Those looking to hit the ski slopes this winter won’t have to wait much longer.

With the season’s latest snowstorms, Brundage Mountain Resort announced in a news release that it’ll be up and running full time on Friday. The last time the McCall-area resort opened skiing this early was nearly two decades ago in 2005, according to the Monday release.

“The excitement on the mountain has been building all month,” Brundage Mountain General Manager Ken Rider said in the news release, “and this weekend our entire team got the chance to spring into action.” Brundage plans to operate seven days a week as long as the weather permits.

The Bluebird Express, Bear Chair and Easy Street chairs are expected to be operating for opening day, with additional lifts and more terrain opening “as soon as conditions permit,” the release said. In the past week, storms have dropped 23 inches of snow and since early November the resort has seen more than three feet.

Guests will also get to experience Brundage’s new 18,000-square-foot MTN Adventure Center, which offers “one-stop access” to all of the resort’s key services. This includes ticketing, guest services, a rental and demo gear shop, a retail store, a coffee shop and a new state-certified daycare facility.

“We designed the MAC to be easy to navigate, with all the essential services found in one convenient location,” Rider said.

The resort is offering lift tickets online at a discounted rate for the start of the season with adults at $48; seniors and teenagers at $33; kids (7-12) at $23; and younger children free.
