The incident occurred Sunday in a barn east of Gooding when the female teenager and two male teenagers were doing some work. One of the males picked up a shotgun that discharged, killing the female, according to the prosecutor’s office.
The teen was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead there. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
Although no arrests have been made, the investigation is ongoing, officials said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Gooding County Sheriff’s Office at 208-934-4421.
