UPDATE: The Hailey Police Department said Taylor has been “safely located.” The original story is below.

The Hailey Police Department is searching for Idaho Sen. Ron Taylor, who has been missing since Tuesday morning.

According to a Facebook post from Hailey police and the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor was last seen at 7 a.m. Tuesday leaving his residence in Hailey. He left the house in his 2015 maroon Ford F-150 truck, Idaho license plate 3108Z. The pickup has a shell on the bed and stickers on the back.

The post described Taylor as a “vulnerable adult,” and also said he left his phone at home and missed a meeting, which was described as being out of character.

Taylor is a first-term state senator for the Democratic Party from Blaine County, serving District 26. He is on the Senate committees for Agricultural Affairs, Health and Welfare, and Resources and Environment.

Police ask anyone who sees Taylor or his truck to call Hailey Police Chief Steve England at (208) 788-3531.
