An Idaho woman told family she was going to the mountains. She hasn’t been seen since

Kathy Jo Jones told family that she was leaving to go to the mountains on Friday, and they have not heard from her since, the Owyhee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Monday.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help locating the woman.

The release indicated that Jones often spends time in Silver City, Council, Riggins and areas along the Salmon River, meaning a wide swath of territory.

Jones left the Homedale area in her red 2017 Toyota RAV4 with Idaho license plate number DBA61, the release said. Jones is 5-foot-3 and weighs about 210 pounds. She has long, brown hair with bangs and has blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a “flower print bikini top and black bicycle shorts,” according to the release.

The Sheriff’s Office said Jones has “physical and mental disabilities requiring medications.”

Anyone with information about Jones should contact sheriff’s dispatch at 208-495-1154, extension 2.

Jones is the second person to have disappeared from the Treasure Valley in recent days. Meridian developer Matt Schultz went missing last week and his body was found Sunday by searchers in Owyhee County.
