A fire is burning at the Darigold dairy plant in Caldwell, according to the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office.

The fire was reported shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to dispatch. The plant in downtown Caldwell processes dairy products after receiving milk from farmers, according to its website.

Crews from fire departments in Caldwell, Middleton, Nampa, Meridian, Eagle and Star have responded to the fire, according to dispatch.

“Initial reports are that all people are safe,” read a post on Darigold’s Twitter account at around 3:30 p.m.

As of 4:30 p.m., units were still on scene, dispatch said.

It is unclear what caused the fire.
