Body of BASE jumper, missing after swim in Snake River, recovered near Twin Falls

Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office deputies found BASE jumper Austin Carey’s body at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning west of Pillar Falls.

Carey, who came to Twin Falls last summer from California to train as a BASE jumper, had been missing since June 18 after he went swimming near the falls following a BASE jump.

The Jerome County Sheriff’s Office recovered Carey’s body, which was identified by the Jerome County Coroner. Carey’s family was notified of his recovery.
