Hollywood stuntman Eddie Braun is in Twin Falls this week, making final preparations for his planned jump over the Snake River Canyon.

Braun held a news conference Wednesday afternoon to discuss the feat, but there is no definite date or time set yet for the jump. Organizers say the dangerous event is dependent on weather and wind conditions, KIVI-TV, Channel 6, reports. Braun hopes to make the jump sometime in the next few days.

He told reporters Wednesday that he will be traveling — flying — about 430 miles an hour to gain an elevation of 2,000 to 3,000 feet over the Snake River.

Braun, who says he spent $1.6 million of his own money to make the jump, hopes to succeed where famed motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel failed more than 40 years ago.
