Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls For GOP To Be ‘Burned To Ground'
Marjorie Taylor Greene has said she thinks the Republican Party needs to be “burned to the ground,” in an interview with Alex Jones, the founder and host of Infowars.
The former congresswoman added that the GOP was “completely controlled,” and said that “much of Congress is controlled by AIPAC and Zionists,” noting this was a “serious problem.”
AIPAC, or the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, is an American pro-Israel lobbying group.
Greene, a former representative for Georgia, has become a vocal critic of the Trump administration, particularly on issues relating to foreign policy, health care and the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, despite previously being one of Trump's most vocal allies.
Last year, she had a public falling out with Trump, making her break her notable ties within the Republican base, and she then resigned from Congress earlier this year.
“That means that you, the American people, don’t control your own government and those you elect. They’re controlled by donors that have one specific interest and that is Israel,” she said in the interview with Jones.
She added that she was referring to the “secular government of Israel, not Jewish people, so I don’t want to hear any of the antisemitism stuff, we’re over that.”
Greene added that “we should support candidates, and fight hard for candidates, that will not take money from AIPAC or AIPAC-adjacent donors.”
Newsweek has contacted Greene’s office outside of regular working hours via email for comment.
