A Florida lottery player is holding a ticket worth millions of dollars — and might not know it yet.

The lucky player bought a Florida Lotto game ticket that matched all the numbers picked in the Jan. 15 drawing, making it worth an estimated $43 million, results show.

The winning numbers: 7-8-24-37-43-49.

So, where was the lucky ticket sold? The winner bought it at a Tom Thumb store near Destin in the Florida Panhandle, the Florida Lottery wrote on its website and in a news release.

Florida Lotto is a drawing game that offers tickets starting at $2. The winner scored their prize on a “free ticket,” which can be won after buying another ticket for the game.

“Players who match just two winning numbers win a free FLORIDA LOTTO Quick Pick ticket for the next available draw,” lottery officials wrote, adding that a machine chooses Quick Pick numbers at random.

As of early Jan. 16, no one had claimed the big prize. In Florida, the winners of drawing games have about six months to cash in, according to game rules.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
