Mega Millions players win $1 million. Where in the US were the lucky tickets sold?
Mega Millions tickets sold in Florida, Minnesota and New Jersey won $1 million, just missing the $20 million jackpot, lottery officials said.
The tickets matched five winning numbers, but not the Mega Ball, in the drawing Tuesday, Dec. 31, the national Mega Millions site said.
The grand prize now rises to an estimated $42 million, with a cash option of approximately $18.8 million, for the next drawing Friday, Jan. 3, the site said.
The winning numbers were 13, 22, 27, 29 and 35 with a Mega Ball of 1, the lottery said. The Megaplier multiplier was 2x.
Nearly 560,000 other tickets sold in the United States won prizes ranging from $2 to $20,000 in the drawing, the lottery said.
The Mega Millions jackpot was last hit Dec. 27, when a California player won the nearly $1.3 billion grand prize, lottery officials said.
