Pup found ‘soaking wet and shivering’ near dumpster in Colorado. See his ‘warm’ new life
A tiny pup was discovered “soaking wet and shivering” all alone near a dumpster at a job site in Colorado, officials said.
Now he can look forward to new, happier chapter.
The person who found him brought him to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, where he showed “nothing but warmth, love, and courage” despite his rough start, the shelter said on Facebook.
“From the moment he arrived, Joey’s spirit captured everyone’s hearts,” the shelter said in the Nov. 5 post. “Our staff’s notes are full of praise for his sweetness, friendly nature, and his unbreakable joy for life. Each tail wag, every soft nuzzle, showed us Joey’s incredible resilience and willingness to trust and love, even after all he had been through.”
Officials don’t know how he ended up alone and scared by the dumpster that day. But it quickly became clear the experience hadn’t limited all the love the little pup had to give.
“One staff member was so taken with Joey’s gentle heart that he placed a choice hold on him immediately, eager to give Joey the loving home he deserved,” the shelter said. “After being cleared by our medical team, Joey finally got to go home to a life filled with soft blankets, cozy sweaters, and lots of snuggles. He would never be left out in the cold again.”
Photos show the all-white pup wearing cozy sweaters and snuggling up in his new human’s lap.
“At HSPPR, we believe even the most heartbreaking stories can lead to a brighter future,” the shelter said. “Joey’s story may have started in sadness, but it became a journey of unwavering hope, incredible kindness, and a second chance at happiness.”
“So glad he has a safe, warm, loving home now,” someone said in the comments.
