Stranger grabs girl through bathroom window and tries to pull her out, WA cops say
A young girl was in the bathroom when a stranger reached through the window and tried to pull her out, police in Washington said.
One of the child’s parents called 911 at 10:46 p.m. July 19 from an apartment complex at 700 East James Street, the Kent Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The stranger threatened the child through an open window and grabbed her by the hair, police said.
He then “pulled her upwards as if to take her through the window,” authorities said.
Police said he ran off when he couldn’t get her.
Authorities used K9s and a helicopter to search for the suspect but did not find him.
Now, authorities are asking neighbors to check their surveillance cameras and to report any information they have on the suspect, who is accused of attempted kidnapping. The man was described to police as between 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 5 feet, 9 inches tall and on “the thinner side.” He is said to be bald with facial hair and was reportedly wearing a blue hoodie at the time.
Police can be contacted by email at KPDTipLine@kentwa.gov or by calling the Tip Line at 253-856-5808. The case number is 24-10033.
Kent is about 20 miles south of Seattle.
