A dog was found wrapped in a towel and tied to a pole with food, water and supplies — and a sign begging for help in Colorado.

The handwritten sign read “help her!” and included the number for the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, the shelter said July 1 on Facebook. The people who found her honored the anonymous person’s wish.

“We are not here to judge Giselle’s previous owner, and we ask you to do the same,” the shelter said. “We don’t know or understand their situation. We only know they were asking for help.”

The team cared for Giselle until her “heartbreaking beginning ended with a Happy Tail,” the shelter said.

“She was cared for and loved by our team for 25 days, and her journey with us concluded with a joyful adoption!” the shelter said. “We hope everyone joins us in wishing Giselle well in the next chapter of her life. She deserves it!”

“Lots of kisses,” someone wrote in a comment under the photo. “Sometimes people take off in a hurry or are homeless, but the most important thing is that they didn’t beat you. They got you help and that is more than we can say for many children and spouses in today’s world who left us too early.”

Several more people shared their joy in the comments.

“I hope whoever had to make this heartbreaking (decision) now knows she has found a loving home,” someone said.

“I bet it was someone doing (their) best to get her out of a bad situation,” someone else said. “So glad she’s getting a happy tail ending.”
