Postal worker switches routine to buy lottery ticket. Prize leaves him in ‘disbelief’
A U.S. Postal Service employee scored big after buying a $3 lottery ticket, Maryland officials said.
The Baltimore County man who regularly plays the draw games had no idea he’d bought a ticket in Baltimore carrying a $50,000 Powerball prize, according to a June 10 news release by the Maryland Lottery.
The Randallstown resident usually uses a personal set of numbers when buying tickets but this time decided on the quick-pick option for the June 1 drawing, officials said.
When he scanned his ticket, he was left in disbelief, lottery officials said.
Although the winner doesn’t have any concrete plans for the money, he plans to keep playing until he lands a huge jackpot, officials said.
Randallstown is about a 20-mile drive northwest of downtown Baltimore.
