Hurtling semi tire misses driver on Utah interstate by inches, firefighters say
A pickup truck driver narrowly escaped injury or death when a flying semi tire crashed through their windshield on a Utah highway, firefighters said.
“Another few inches would’ve been a different story,” Park City firefighters wrote Sunday, Nov. 28, in a Facebook post with photos of the shattered windshield.
The driver ducked away from the flying tire just at the right time, firefighters wrote.
The tire had come off a semi truck traveling west on Interstate 80 and flew into the eastbound lanes, the Facebook post said.
“That’s a miracle,” read one comment on the post.
“Oh my gosh this could have been tragic,” read another.
Park City is about 30 miles east of Salt Lake City, Utah.
