Man accidentally starts wildfire while mowing — by dropping his joint, Maine rangers say
A Maine man is learning there are some things you might not want to do while smoking a joint.
Maine Forest Rangers said a man was mowing a field Thursday while smoking a joint. He fell and couldn’t find the joint, Maine Forest Rangers said.
“He then walked back up to his house and then turned and noticed the field was on fire,” Maine Forest Rangers said on Facebook. “Two acres burned.”
No other information about the fire was shared.
Fire officials in Maine have been battling wildfires, according to news outlets. The Maine Forest Service was fighting two active wildfires on Friday, the Associated Press reported.
With temperatures in the 80s and wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour, the risk of wildfires has increased, according to the Bangor Daily News.
The Maine Forest Service reported there had been 380 forest fires with 180 acres of land burned across the state as of earlier in May, according to the AP.
