Car full of teens on the run rams into a group of police officers, Montana cops say

Six teenagers were arrested in Montana early Saturday after police say the vehicle they were in sped into a group of officers, hospitalizing one.

Just after 1 a.m., Billings police spotted a vehicle that had evaded officers several times earlier in the evening, officials said in a news release.

The vehicle was stopped facing officers as police tried to give commands to the people inside — then it sped directly into a group of officers, the release said.

The vehicle slammed into a 35-year-old officer, who was taken to the hospital for injuries that required surgery, police said. The officer had been with the Billings police department for six years, according to the release.

After hitting the officer, the car sped off before crashing nearby, police said. All six people inside the car tried to run away, but officers ultimately caught them all.

Five passengers inside the car were girls ages 13 to 16, according to the release. The driver was a 14-year-old boy, police say.

All six were charged with attempted deliberate homicide and turned over to youth services, according to the release.
