Video shows woman, 25, pushing 74-year-old man off bus, killing him
A 25-year-old woman didn’t take kindly to a fellow bus passenger’s advice to be nicer following an expletive-laced argument, KLAS reported.
A bus video released by police shows Cadesha Bishop shove the 74-year-old man out the door as he tries to exit the bus March 21, KTNV reported.
Serge Fournier initially declined medical help, but was later hospitalized and died April 23 of his injuries, KSNV reported. Police arrested Bishop on suspicion of murder following his death.
Bishop, who was riding the bus with her son at the time, posted bail Friday, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. Police say she was placed on “high-level electronic monitoring.”
The extremely graphic bus video, which has no audio, shows Fournier appearing to argue with a woman as he struggles to free his collapsible utility cart from the seat.
He starts to step off the bus when the woman quickly shoves him from behind, slamming the 74-year-old onto the sidewalk, where Fournier lies motionless sprawled atop his cart, the video shows.
Other passengers on the bus react in shock as the woman moves past them away from the door, the video shows.
The incident took place at 4:50 p.m. March 21 near Fremont and 13th streets, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Las Vegas police say the attack followed an argument aboard the bus between Bishop and other passengers, KTNV reported. As the bus came to his stop, police say Fournier asked Bishop to be nicer before she shoved him onto the sidewalk.
The fall from the bus “crushed” Fournier’s hip, said neighbor Jeffrey Bingham, KLAS reported.
“He wasn’t able to eat,” Bingham said. “He was in a lot of pain.”
Police ask anyone with information to call 702-828-3521 or email firstname.lastname@example.org, KSNV reported.
A preliminary hearing in the case has been scheduled for May 23, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
