Emmett man, passengers hospitalized after I-84 crash near Mountain Home
It's unknown if Emmett man Micky Birmingham, 40, was wearing a seatbelt Thursday afternoon when the car he was driving rear-ended a trailer being towed by James Archer, a 75-year-old Caldwell.
The collision occurred about 12:40 p.m. on westbound side of Interstate 84 near milepost 91, west of Mountain Home, according to and Idaho State Police news release. The road had heavy ice and blowing snow on it.
Birmingham, as well as an unknown number of passengers, was transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, according to the news release. Their conditions are unknown. All of the passengers were wearing seatbelts, as was Archer, who was not hospitalized.
The right lane of I-84's westbound side was blocked for two hours, according to the Idaho State Police, which is still investigating the crash.
